What to do when you’re NOT in the mood?

You may have slept late or had a really rough day at work. Now, your body and your mind just doesn’t feel like lifting weights or doing anything strenuous. It happens to the best of us. So what do you do??? Crawl back in bed OR push through?

1. Don’t be too hard on yourself.
Some days will be harder than others. If you skip a workout or feel like you didn’t do your best, don’t beat yourself up. Just get back at it the next day!

2. Dial back the intensity. (My preference).
Consistency is a huge part of maintaining your progress. So regularly ditching your workout can cause regression. BUT listening to your body is also very important. On days like this you can just vibe out.

3. Switch from a heavy or intense workout to something more relaxing and enjoyable. If you usually lift weights, lift lighter. If you usually run, jog or walk!

4. Mix Things Up
Sticking to the same routine can get boring. Try new exercises, challenges, or even a fitness class you’ve never taken before.

1. Alternating arm/leg extensions
2. Standing crunches
3. Long stretch !
